Gavar Field Office

Since January of 2001 Armenian Caritas BNGO has its field office located in Gavar city. Gavar city is the administrative centre of the Gegharqunik region of RA which is a strategic geographical area for Armenian Caritas. According to the official statistics, Gegharqunik region is considered one of the poorest regions of Armenia, with the second highest unemployment and second lowest living standards rates.

The Field office in Gavar city provides guidance to Head Office about the intervention areas in Gegharkunik region and realizes different projects to assist the vulnerable people and structures of the region in grass root level. Currently the following programs are implemented in Ghegharkunik region:

• "Little Prince" Children Center in Gavar
• National Home Care for the Elderly
• Social and economic self-determination in rural areas
• Warm Winter
• "Aramazd"
• German Project "Friendship"
